@victoriapat - Ahh is that so? Interesting. I guess that might explain why some people who reported loan numbers were accepted, others were rejected. Would anyone with a “COMPLETE” status mind commenting? Some mentioned loan/grant numbers showing up on the application. Do these figures show up for you guys? Or the weird numbers @victoriapat mentioned above show up?

So frustrating. I have no idea why they would contact me to update documents and still have no status change.

@somanybanelings I am a “Complete” person. I do have loan numbers, but I definitely do not have any strange activity going on. But I feel like it would happen on Thursday rather than today if it did indeed happen.

I don’t know either. I mean, it means they took the time to look at your stuff but not change the status. That’s a little strange to me, too.

@emac542 @rolemodel31 actually my status Changed mid last week to complete, all of my documents have been verified and they have “yes” next to them. I was speaking that my status hasn’t went back to “under review” or “incomplete” as some people’s have. Sorry for the confusion if I caused any.

Do you really think that TF affects your chances of getting in? I mean TfA always tweets about how they accept people who come from low income backgrounds…and these usually fresh out of college poor kids are still poor. Me being one of these poor kids. It sounded like they do TF to help us. I think it is all based on other things.

@hulahoop91, TF status definitely does NOT affect one’s chances of acceptance, and no one here would argue that is the case. The reason everyone is obsessing over TF status is because the mere fact of the status “Complete” or “Under Review” has shown some correlation with acceptance in previous years. That’s all!

@hulahoop91: I don’t think TF affects your chances of getting in at all, but I think they are more likely to check your documents and verify them if you have been accepted.

Thanks @elemteacher and @disneyguy
I submitted my docs ~15 min before the deadline (was super busy and slipped my mind), do you think that could have something to do with them not reviewing it yet? Now I am starting to freak out. :(

Ah, I’m so nervous and I cannot stop thinking about TFA!!! The suspense is killing me like I’m sure many others out there too. I keep telling myself not to worry about it, what will happen happen but it does not help because I’m still constantly checking the TFA website. On my interview day I did not do as well during the sample lesson (I got nervous lol) but the interview with my interviewer went great. She even told me that I had a compelling story and I was going to inspire a lot of students. However, my TF documents have not been verified and the anticipation sucks. I’m hoping it’s because I submitted an additional document on Oct. 21st and they have not gotten that far into the applications or maybe even because my last name starts with an R. Knowing when we’ll find out is both a blessing and a curse at this point :/.

@RGVgirl, I just logged in to the applicant center with no problems. It’s good to know that there are enough people freaking out about their admissions decision to cause the website to bork, though – makes me feel less alone!

@RGVgirl I had the same situation. My status went from under review to incomplete on last week when I received an email stating that I needed to submit more documents or I won’t be able to review my award on Friday. Following the email I submitted documents. I then received an email saying that my documents were “acceptable” but I wouldn’t see a status change until after notification days when I can view my award(depending upon my acceptance). About 15 mins later my status was updated to complete, and my documents were all marked with Yes. It’s been complete every since at least to my knowledge.

But like other posters say I don’t think TF has anything to do with acceptance, but my theory is why would they take the time to “verify” and award people who may not be accepted. Here’s my theory you’re accepted internally, your documents are reviewed, you are awarded, you receive official notification on notification day.

I honestly think it would be counter productive to award those who may or may not be accepted. In previous mentioned I correlated this theory with Financial Aid specifically how students are accepted at the university then are awarded aid packages. But this is only my theory haha. Also take TF status with a grain of salt I’m sure less than 3% of people actually join blogs and report “changes” or there lack of. I think we have about 25 posters? How many applicants were in DL1?

We I’m excited about notification day being that my vacation starts on Thursday :). Being accepted would definitely give me an added reason to celebrate!

Is anyone else in the same situation as me - Documents verified, status always ‘Under Review’, but never contacted about your documents? I feel as though everyone else was asked to fix their documents, then saw their documents verified. Maybe I was just one of the few that already had my documents correct?

I wish I would have filled my TF in on time so I can something to go off for a clue. Lol I just turned my in last Friday and none of my documents have been verified.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to any 2015 TFA Applicants that will be running through these posts with a fine tooth comb; we feel your pain!!

Anyways, I think we should change the survey format this year. We should include: were your documents verified or did you change to incomplete but upon giving additional paperwork, your status remained under review?

This will help future applicants answer the question of “but they’re looking at my stuff and asking for more so that’s a good sign, right?!”

@elemteacher They did ask for more documents from me, and my documents have been verified although one still reads “N/A” next to it - they told me it is in fact verified. But I never switched to complete. I was incomplete for some time then under review again once my documents were fixed.

I’m pretty sure just getting your documents verified is better than nothing. At least they are looking to see if it’s the correct one. When were your documents first verified/reviewed? My documents haven’t even been looked at/reviewed. I would say at this point, change of status is not as big of an issue as having your documents reviewed. The website says that the status will be changed on notification day, so don’t worry too much about the status changes. If your document has been verified, you’re a few steps ahead of those of us who haven’t had any changes to our status/documents… so that has got to be a good thing for you guys!

Yeah, mine changed on the 25th to all say “YES”. But my status has never changed to Incomplete or Complete - just stayed Under Review.

But @gmpink3 - You are right. It does at least make me feel good that they verified the documents? I’m not trying to think anything of it, though, because I REALLY don’t want to get my hopes up just to be let down.

We only have a little over 48 hours, y’all! Last year they seemed to get notifications around 4:30pm. We’re almost there :)

@emac542 thanks for the virtual hand holding! I’m holding back - this is all so nerve wracking! I also agree we should change the survey format - let’s give future applicants as much data to obsess over as possible LOL. We may also want to include whether or not applicants had a phone interview or went straight to the final, since I’ve seen that question come up a few times as far as chances (I’m guessing it doesn’t make a great difference but it might still be helpful data for future applicants).

@elemteacher - I am in the same situation as you! I was never contacted about my documents and never had a “Complete” or “Incomplete” status but my documents are verified. I believe they also changed on the 25th, which was Friday. I am hoping that we just didn’t get a “complete” because our documents got verified so late in the game…especially since most of the “completes” went back to “under review” yesterday.

Also, I have to say WOW - this thread has exploded since I last checked it - and I’m on here several times a day LOL. I really love that so many more people have joined in the discussion and I am grateful that we are all in this anxiety ridden process together.

@explorer17: I’m glad someone else is in the same situation! I was feeling like the weirdo over here. Haha and I love the idea of changing around the format and adding Phone Interview vs. Directly Final Interview. It’d be helpful to future applicants and interesting for us!
