@TFAHopeful21 I sure hope you’re right! Your thinking makes sense, but I think only about 4000 applicants made it to the final interview. Nonetheless, for only 500 out of 4000 applicants to apply for TF seems like a low number to me…so I can only hope that the 500 they’re reviewing are people who have been tentatively accepted.

@teachthechildren good news for sure! had you seen any updates before today?

I also received an email stating that “techs won’t get to [your] application for another couple of weeks” this was sent on 10/24. Interestingly, a prior email mentioned that I would be eligible for funding as long as I submitted documentation by 5/2014. A very long extension don’t you guys think? Perhaps my delay is because I mentioned I would be at a separate residence due to a potential internship instead of my permanent address. Since they calculate via zip codes this might complicate issues. Then again, its doubtful the others in my situation have a similar circumstance. Just have to wait I suppose since some people changed to “COMPLETE” at 8AM on notification day.

I’m new as well. I’ve been reading these posts for a few days and I just decided to make an account.
I’m from Philly and I hope to be placed there if accepted.

I’m sitting in class and I am GOING NUTS. After not having any activity at all for TF and being under review the whole time, I just received an email telling me to resubmit my Grant and Loan documents because my name isn’t clear.

I’m taking any sign as a good sign.

@almostapostgrad - I’m taking documentation verification as a good sign as well. My understanding is there are some people here who are “UNDER REVIEW” and there has been no activity “YES/NO/NA” on their documents, correct?

I am graduating this semester and am looking into more options. Does any know of or can recommend any other teaching programs? Thanks

@almostapostgrad: That’s good! Let us know if your documents change to say that they’ve been reviewed.

@explorer17–oh ok, I was counting 1DL and 2DL separately but I guess it makes sense to combine them. Also, from what I have read about 31-35% are accepted after the Final Interviewer so that would be 1,240-1,400. If abouthalf apply for TF those numbers make sense.

@TeachForChange I hadn’t! So the first sign of change was today since 10/18.

My status is now incomplete. My FAFSA report is marked with a YES and has been verified while the loan and grant documents say No.

To anyone that has not had ANY TF activity, don’t lose hope! I didn’t receive any changes on my account until literally the last half hour (I’ve been checking by the hour almost religiously since 10…) My last name also starts with a D, which might imply that they aren’t going through these in alphabetical order.

But verifying documents for about 3,200 applicants who weren’t accepted or who didn’t apply for TF in a short time frame sounds like a really bad business decision, one that I’m almost certain an efficient organization like TFA would not make.

@almostpostgrad Congratulations. I am hoping for the same change but cannot stand to stalk the TFA site any longer. I have 2 tests to prepare for on Thursday so I will be hopefully more focused on the tests than my TF updates.

It is so hard to focus on classes when I have yet to see a single change since submitting my documents.

@almostapostgrad Congrats on the update! I had a similar circumstance, as did many others, but some of us once we submitted the documents were switched to “complete” and some back to “under review”. Most of those who DID switch to complete are now back to under review. Let us know if you are switched to complete or back to under review after your documents are fixed!!

@tfahopeful21 I can only hope you are right, as my documents were verified but I never turned to complete, just incomplete then back to under review.

@amk1107 I too am interested in other options. Of the ones people posted about, TNTP is the only one that would work for me as I have no previous education experience.

@somanybanelings That is correct. I’m not sure how many. How many people on here have no activity on their tf status page - no verification or anything???

@nesha92 I am from Philly as well, and also hoping to stay here! There are two other Philly students on here. What school are you from? We have one from temple, one from upenn, and I am from La Salle!

Alright. Immediately after submitting my new documents, I went from incomplete to under review. Time to play the waiting game again. There’s not much time left… I’ll be sending good vibes to everyone while I’m studying for my two midterms on Thursday.

Can anyone see their unsubmit button on the regional preference page?

In other news, I have relocated myself to a neighborhood cafe to obsess in a slightly more “I look like I’m actually doing something on this computer” state.

@TFA2014 - nope no unsubmit button for me. Strange since I remember seeing it once before… Not sure if this means anything.

I have had a tab open at work every day for the last week. Work is such a downer lately so it’s been “nice?” to have something to obsess over.

Lol @emac542

@TFA2014 my unsubmit button hasn’t been there for a few days. I’m not reading much into it. TF status on the other hand is driving me crazy!

Ahh I’m pretty sure my blood pressure has sky rocketed this week…decision day can’t come soon enough!
