@toots99k I preferred the Bay Area, Sacramento, Las Vegas, ATL and New Orleans…Places I am from, have lived or spent a great deal of time. Also I’d love to get English!

@elemteacher I’ll look for it again in a couple minutes. I thought I saw it a couple pages back but I might have been mistaken. The thread moves so quickly at times haha

Here it is guys!

Accepted/Rejected/Waitlisted:

If yes, were your documents verified (i.e. did they have the words “YES” and/or “N/A” next to them?) (Yes/No):
Was your status ever listed as Incomplete? If yes, did it turn to under review or complete after?:
Did your TF Status change to Complete at any time? (if yes, list the date when the changes occurred):

Thanks explorer17!!

I’m back to obsessing over this final decision again. I tried to study/keep busy but it’s impossible. I see some people are talking about location preferences again so lets all dream a little while we wait lol. I graduated from a school in south Texas (in the Rio Grande Valley) that had TFA teachers and that’s how I got familiar with the organization. I’m studying in Michigan right now and I put Texas locations as my top preferences: RGV, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas. I can’t wait to get away from the cold weather and I know after graduation I’m going back down south to be closer to family/friends back home. :)

Hey guys!

Finally joining in after excitedly stalkin’ these pages for the past couple of weeks.

Here’s a thought:
Any chance that they update Transitional Funding by how much money we have left on loans/credit card debt/ etc? Like maybe they update people who have the most owed/who need it “the most” first so that they know how much they have to offer other people without mortgages or other loans to pay off?

Obviously this is a hard statistic to track without asking people to reveal personal finances, so maybe this is a question for people who have spouses or boyfriends/girlfriends or close friends who are also applying. Did the person whose documents were verified first (or whose status went to complete first) have more debt?

Happy Halloween!

@RGVgirl I also listed Houston in my preferences. While I have been to Texas, I’ve never been to Houston…Only Dallas. The people were so nice in Texas! I’m from Cali & wouldn’t exactly say politeness is a strength of ours.

@wallacedew Hi! What are your preferences?

Repost to keep track of the survey

Can I just say how my heart skips a beat when its all “Congratulations Victoria!” on the applicant center…but it is just inviting me to the interview.

Guys I just checked my heart rate and it was 102 bpm… also every time I see the survey reposted I freak out a little haha

@jazzcatastrophe haha I didn’t even think about that freaking people out. I get it though

@victoriapat – hahah I do the same thing every time.

@AmbitiousM – Hi to you too! I went with New Orleans, Seattle, South Louisiana, and Boston as my highly preferred regions – with High School English, Art, Music, or High School History as my highly preferred subjects.

So excited just to hear an answer either way. The wait it the roughest part.

@WallaceDeW My boyfriend and I both applied to TFA and his changed to complete way before mine. I think I have more debt than he does, but he has slightly less savings and got a pell grant in college. I don’t think our financial situations are terribly different - I would have to say, if anything was different between us, it was placement. I think he would have been easier to place because he highly preferenced STEM subjects but I am only really qualified for humanities subjects.

Hahah @jazzacatastrophe I’m fairly confident my blood pressure has been elevated for the last week. LOL. It’s amazing how the body reacts physically in situations like these!

Can’t wait to know one way or the other so I can breathe again.

For anyone looking to kill some time This site is really amusing:

To think that the next time I get on here, we will all know.

Que será, será what will be, will be

¡Buena suerte a todos!

-SeñoritaTFA

@wallacedew I’ve never been to Seattle or Boston. New Orleans, though not without problems, is a wonderful city…so much culture (in my opinion). The wait is very rough but here’s to hoping we make it in!

@explorer17 – Thanks for the reply – The plot thickens! Haha well there goes my theory.

At this point I think I need to just stop trying to cheat the system and wait for an answer. Excited to see if there is truly a pattern. Hoping for my sake there isn’t though because none of my docs are verified and my status is still under review.

@AmbitiousMe I was born in Houston and raised in Pasadena, TX (right next to Houston) until I was 13 years old. I have a bunch of family that lives in Houston and yeah I would have to agree that people in Texas are so nice, even though I might be a bit biased haha. I’ve never been to Cali but I want to check it out one day, I love traveling. You should visit Houston if you get the chance, there is just so much to do and a lot of people that visit fall in love. If things do not work out with TFA I will be looking to move to Houston for law school. Oh btw, what do you think about Whataburger haha.

@AmbitiousM – Agreed! I think that the problems are outweighed by the ambience and personality that just seems to effortlessly ooze out of everything there. Obviously, as with any city, you have to be smart and mindful of what you are doing – but it would be so worth it. I visited again back in June and wished that I had stayed.
What were your preferences? I think I saw that you posted them earlier in the thread, but I have no idea where they’d be now! Haha

Womp wompppp — sorry @ambitiousme-- just saw that you posted them like 2 pages ago.
Great choices!

Also-- I’m from California too. Where did you interview?
