Teach For America 2014 Corps

iTeacher who did you email?

Hey Bahama32 I logged in TFA’s applicant center and on the top right there is a help button. Go down to “can’t find your question” topic spanish exam and type that you haven’t received the results of your spanish exam. Within a day or so they get back to ya! hope this helps and good luck !

iTeacher Thanks a bunch!!

The wait is killing me. And I can’t even go out to get my mind off of it because it’s snowstorming where I live. :P

Did anyone’s TF change to complete? I really hate getting my hopes up like this. My interviewer emailed me today and I wish she confirmed or deny.

Mine’s still under review TFASDHopeful. How come your interviewer emailed you?

@everton1 mine says complete now but I think its only because i specifically requested an area (san diego since my fianc

@TFASHHopeful have your documents been verified as well? Are all of yalls documents verified or say YES/ NA next to them?

@rhswim9 yes, they all have been verifies and say YES. But I’m bracing myself for this.

@TFASDHopeful That’s awesome! You must have made a really good impression. I specially requested Phoenix because my wife works here and my kids are in school but up to now I still don’t have a complete. Maybe that’s a bad sign but it sounds like many change the day of. Thursday is so far away…

@ rhswim - my documents all have yes next to them. Do yours?

@everton, yes mine are verified. I’ve only been asked for the three though. I know in the past they have asked other applicants to give more forms for further verification. i think that verification has something to do with it. I looked through some of the previous threads and i couldnt find a person who applied for TF, had verified forms and was rejected. All of the ones I looked at were accepted. The only thing I noticed is that some saw their forms verified the day of so it can truly happen all the way up to the last minute. The verification is the only thing helping me have hope. But, I just dont have a good feeling about being accepted for some reason. In fact, I really doubt it.

@everton1
Sounds like you’re on track! I sincerely hope you get Phoenix. After doing some internet stalking it seems like that a decent amount of people get sent there! I think they need about 350 corps members there which is a ton opposed to SD which only inducted 23 for 2013. Los Angeles and Phoenix are the two areas I hope to be in if SD is out of the question. But you’re right, a lot of people didn’t see a tf change till the day off so stay hopeful!

@rhswim9 where are you hoping to be placed? I’m sure we’re all fine as long as we have a big YES! I truly will be heartbroken if I don’t get San Diego or Los Angeles though.

@rhswim I did the same thing. I looked at all the DL1/2 comments and everyone that said they had their documents verified got accepted and all those that didn’t say they had them accepted either didn’t say whether they were accepted or were not accepted. That’s got to be something.
@TFASDHopeful I’ve lived in the Phoenix area for about six years and I love it. I’m glad they have a lot of need here. San Diego would be awesome though. I’ve been on vacation a couple of times and it must be one of the most beautiful paces on Earth. I bet it is expensive to live there though! I hope you get your top choice. It would be hard to live away from your fiance. Mind, Phoenix isn’t so far.

Haha everyone keeps speaking about how wonderful SD is I’m visiting in March. It’s been long distance for two years now it’d just be nice. Even though he deploys in September.

I completely agree, I’ve read everyone I could’s accept/reject post from 2012+
I’m just afraid they caught on to how witty and smart the applicants are and they might have changed the process or something hehe.

@rhswim9 and @everton1 So I had two of my forms with ‘YES’ marked next to them and one with ‘N/A’. However when I emailed them wondering about the ‘N/A’ they told me that while it shows up as N/A to me, on their end it is a ‘YES.’ Do you think that’s indicative of anything?

That’s funny futureteacher128! I think N/As have been deemed to be just as good as yeses by others. I bet that’s as good a sign as three yeses.

Hey guys, do ya’ll think TFA always asks for supplemental forms before declaring COMPLETE? I’m wondering if they first ask for additional documentation, then read applicants submitted forms, and lastly post complete.
I would hate to get to Thursday and not have been asked to submit additional forms for the transitional funding. But, who knows? Maybe they are only requested under special circumstances.

I don’t know valways92. I’ve read a few that have been asked to submit further paperwork say that they submitted a wrong form. I think one said that their name wasn’t showing on their loan documentation. I’m assuming that if you submit everything they ask for initially then that is usually all they need. I’d be interested to hear from someone who has been asked to provide forms when there was no problem with their original ones.

@TFASDHopeful honestly anywhere. i would love to stay on the east coast and get nashville or baltimore, but at this point ill go wherever im called. i understand it must be tougher for you all.

@Everton1 yes exactly!! I noticed the same thing. I’m hoping it all works out. If they verify it, there must be some kind of looks they are throwing in that direction. but, who knows?

@futureteacher128 yes I have two YES’s and one N/A. I had to email them a bunch of times because one of my forms wasnt correct. Since then, I have been under review as well. But, I understand exactly what you are saying.
