Great point spedteacher84! That’s really good to know.

@rhswim9 All of my forms (except one) has a “Yes”. I had to resubmit the form that has a “No” next to it (multiple times). First, they needed an additional document. Then they needed an additional part of that document. Then they needed a statement from me regarding my income. It still has a “No” probably because I submitted it in late December because I had to get a document from my parent and scan it. They probably haven’t looked at it.

@Everton1 There was nothing wrong with my original documents. I submitted everything that they wanted correctly the first time. They just wanted additional information about my family’s income.

@tnbaileyTFA

They wanted:
A copy of the first four (4) pages of your most recent tax return OR A copy of this year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Student Aid Report (SAR) for 2013/2014 school year
Documentation verifying current amount of Federal Student Loans ( 62633)
Documentation verifying undergrad Pell Grant

I originally submitted (with my full name on the documents):
Copy of FAFSA for this school year
Documentation verifying current amount of Federal Student Loans (from my loan service)
Documentation verifying undergrad Pell Grant (from my US govt. student loans & grants account)

Additional documentation that they asked for:
Parent’s tax return
A statement about my income

My original documents are still on my application.

@spedteacher84 have your documents been verified with “yes” on the notes though?

So I emailed TFA to ask whether or not I had passed the bilingual exam and they replied that I did but at the end there was a sentence that read like this. We sincerely appreciate the time and effort you have invested in this process…it made me think that although they congratulated me for passing it, I ultimately must not have made it. Like congrats, but sorry. Was this added onto anyone else’s email correspondence regarding whether they passed the exam?

@tfapossible I wouldn’t worry about it. In my email from TFA about whether I received a final interview or not (And I assume everyone got the same email), it said:

“Thank you for your continued interest in Teach For America. We appreciate the time and effort you put into interviewing with us.”

It sounded like a “thanks but…” but when I logged in I realized I was invited to the final interview. It’s probably just a generic sentence they give to everyone, so we can’t “analyze” email correspondence as an indicator of acceptance. Don’t stress! :)

Got the same email tfapossible. I wouldnt read to much into it.

@tfapossible I received that email this morning too after I emailed them to ask whether or not I passed and I got the same feeling when I read that last sentence. We’ll find out soon enough though!

@ssedgrad8 - Then I wonder if being asked for more documents is a necessary step in the process. Unless your family income is more complicated than most.

Why does one week seem like not much time but two days an eternity?

@tfapossible and @bahama32, I am one of the accepted applicants from the 3DL who was granted early decision. I too had to email TFA last night to inquire about my test results. They advised me today that I passed and towards the end of the email, the same sentence was there. I believe they just sent a mass email to everyone who took it, regardless if passed or failed.

Well rsm2009 you just made our sleep a whole lot nicer tonight lol.

hah, I dont think anyone will sleep nice anyway! So close!

I really wish I would have followed this forum sooner. I wish I would have known if my status ever changed from “complete” to “under review”. I don’t think it really matters anymore, though. I mean, just two more days…

oh… and good luck to all of you guys!

I’m now literally stalking this forum. The wait would not be so bad if school were in session. Then my mind would be occupied and I could move on. However, this went from something I didn’t think about to something I’m writing on forums about, just in the last day or so!

@Everton1 I guess they wanted more proof that my family is poor :p

Here’s the survey in preparation for Thursday

Accepted/Rejected/Waitlisted:
Final Interview Date and Location:
Invited Directly to Final Interview/Phone Interview first?:
Applied for Transitional Funding? (Yes/No):
If yes, were your documents verified (i.e. did they have the words “YES” and/or “N/A” next to them?) (Yes/No):
Was your status ever listed as Incomplete? If yes, did it turn to under review or complete after?:
Did your TF Status change to Complete at any time? (if yes, list the date when the changes occurred):

@tfapossible -Yes, all of my documents have been verified and have Yes next to them, but it still says Under Review for now. Does anyone’s TF status say Complete right now?

@stressedgrad8 posting the survey really brings home how close we are. And, to prove your poverty, you should have sent a form containing seven ground beef-based recipes! :)

My TF status says complete right now. It’s said complete since Dec. 11th. I’m kinda nervous since everyone’s status has changed back to under review and mine hasn’t. It says complete on the second page where you see if your documents are verified.
