Maybe I should have applied to TF. At least I would have some idea of what would happen today lol

I’m trying to gain insight onto people’s situations who have NOT applied for TF & were also put straight through to the final interview, no phone interview. Anyone else in the same boat, there’s no TF status for us to check so, I’m curious if there are other hints??

@thenaturalista I didn’t go straight to the final interview, but I think going straight to the final is a good sign. They clearly thought you were a great candidate from the start! I didn’t apply for TF because I’m 28 and honestly don’t want to be bothered with any extra loans right now, but I’m actually thinking about applying mainly because I wouldn’t be able to work during the summer. I could just turn the funding down if I did receive it… I don’t think there are any hints for us. We just have to chill until the decisions start showing up lol pity

I’m an ed major/grad to, but honestly, I’m hoping to be placed outside my certification so I can become dually certified and make myself even more marketable in the future and this is one of the main reasons why I applied for TFA.

So many completes! I didn’t finish submitting my supporting docs so I have no indicator. I’m so glad the wait is almost over. Too bad we have a snow day so I’m not keeping as busy as I would otherwise! Ugh.

@Pastaholic I’m also an education major, and didn’t think of the advantages to being dually certified. Good point! :)

These last five weeks have been so long, but this day seems to be the longest so far! Good luck to everyone.

I didn’t apply for TF because I didn’t think I had time to submit docs, so I don’t even have that nugget to hang my hat on to sustain me through the day. I am completely in the dark!!!

Is everyone under the impression they said notification would be by 8pm tonight?

Good luck, all!

Yeah, I assumed that we’d be kind of in the dark since we have no TF to refer to. I’m kind of glad about that since it might drive me a little crazy today. Id be looking at it all day. Instead, I’m on this board all day. Ha!

TF status also changed to complete this morning as well.

@thenaturalista going to the final interview directly has its advantages and disadvantages. i went straight to the final and i asked my interviewer to be real with me about it. The main advantage was that TFA saw the qualities in your application that it wanted to bring to its program. They essentially want to put a face to an application. I heard during one of the other interviews, that a candidate that also went directly to the final interview didnt do so well based on her fellow peers. One of my friends said she came in late, went over her 5 minutes in her lesson plan, did not listen to the interviewers when they said stop, jumped in and dominated the observation etc. One can only look so good in paper. I am sure you nailed your final interview. The disadvantage of going to the final interview is that its your first time. The other applicants have more of an idea as to how TFA works, the style of questions etc. He said the adjustment within a few minutes is a disadvantage but recognized by TFA as well. So i guess it evens out in the end. Nonetheless, you seem good to go.

rhswim- I definitely agree with you. I was put straight through to the final interview and I did feel like I was at a disadvantage. I mentioned that in my survey as well as the fact that some applicants have recruiters to assist them with the process and others are totally on thier own. I hope TFA takes this into account in the future, I know it’s hard to get a recruiter for everyone but it’s still a suggestion…

Good luck guys!!! I was so nervous waiting for acceptance back on October 31st…too bad ours didnt show up when they said it would. As soon as 6pm hit I was shaking while logging into the Applicant Center, but it didn’t show up until about 7:10pm for me.

I hope you all will be in the 2014 Corps with us!

@ahm5732

My TF status went to complete in early December and then reverted back to under review. All the documents said verified the whole time. This morning it went back to complete.

My status changed to complete this morning!

In other news, TFA’s site is down for maintenance. I wonder if it has anything to do with our decisions…

Is that 7pm eastern time?

Alas, no verification and still under review. I submitted my TF on 12/11 instead of 12/6, but I doubt that has much to do with it.

@paige, you can still access the application even though the site is down.

Goooooood luck Everyone!!

Wow there’s a lot of completes! I’m hoping a lot of us will be accepted!!
And @broct1 I wouldn’t lose hope yet since you didn’t file by 12/6. They made it pretty clear that that was the last day you could apply in order to for sure hear about TF by today.

The official TFA twitter account tweeted about an hour ago, (to an applicant) that they would receive an email once the applicant center had been updated.

So… Just look out for an email

’ you will receive an email once your applicant status has been updated’ - official TFA Twitter acct.

sometimes when i click on the transitional funding tab, i get scared that i’ll accidentally click “withdraw”. they’re so close!
