ACCEPTED to Washington DC!! Got placed in bilingual elementary school
So it looks like ALL of the emails have the subject “view your updated status.” hahah

Accepted!!! I’ll be teaching elementary school in Charlotte

Rejected - oh well - I feel like this is a bit skewed with the acceptances because people who are rejected don’t want to post lol… Also this is CC so lots of overachievers! Congrats to you all - I’d be happy to take any suggestions about programs similar to TFA.

I applied to the October 24th deadline and I just found out I got a phone interview. I’m so excited :)

@bigredbutton I’m sure you’ll find your place! I’d check out The New Teacher Project - they actually have a deadline coming up. Also, TFA has something on their website about similar projects. But TNTP is a really great program, so I hear.

early childhood in Las Vegas!

@bigredbutton if you have any questions about TNTP fellowships in general (or the NYC branch of Teaching Fellows specifically, shoot me a message)

I know lots of people are probably calling with questions, but its so frustrating that I’m not able to get a hold of ANYONE from TFA. My finals don’t finish until June 11, but regional induction for me starts June 8th… I don’t know what to do and if this is going to be a huge problem or not. Does anyone know about this? :/

@lifehasjust I think it is an issue because one if the big things was not applying to regions where we couldn’t make summer institute since it’s 100% required. Maybe they’ll switch your region?

Late to the party, but ACCEPTED! High School Math in San Antonio!

Ok, so now that we got accepted we have to take the tests -__-. Does anyone know if this praxis is harder than the gre?

I talked to people who have taken the praxis and I’ve taken the GRE myself. I think the GRE is much much harder. Then again, it all depends on how comfortable you are with your subject since the Praxis has 2 parts; the general ed and then the subject specific. @rutherfordium

thanks @cholt5. did anyone get their transitional funding updated? mine is still under review

@PugGirl85 Congratulations!!! How do you feel?

@rutherfordium It hasn’t updated for me either. I just sent an email to TF. I’ll share what they say, if I get a response.

@rutherfordium They told me it won’t be available until Monday, November 3rd :/

@rutherfordium I got my TF updated last night.

my TF was available day of notification. Was pretty happy with it.

My TF was also available notification day. I’m definitely not worried about my transition now. :)

I’m posting this for any future applicants that come across this forum:

I was accepted:

MY TF Status updated to complete, then went back to “under review” – I was skeptical about this being an indictor, but there’s nothing to say that it’s not.

I was able to speak with my regional director about my finals week conflicting with regional induction – he said that we’d work it out to get me up to speed if I have to miss a day or so. However, you’re not allowed to miss more than one day of Training Institute, which thankfully does not conflict with school and begins the day after my graduation.

I received an e-mail at about 10am that said something along the lines of “check your application status,” with no indicator if you’ve been accepted or not, but you can go on the website and see.

-If you have burning questions it may be a little hard to get in touch with people at first, but if accepted you’ll receive e-mails with contacts from your region which are super useful

I hope this is helpful to anyone in the future who is just anxiously waiting for answers and clarity like I was! lol

Is anyone doing a virtual interview this week?
