And, congrats everyone for making it this far! I remember being so neurotic and OCD about checking my TF status. It’s difficult to stay away from it, so I understand what you all are going through at the moment.
TF status is still a GREAT indicator (or any request for updates), so relax a bit if you’ve had any of that thus far! It is >90% chance you’re getting in, so congrats!
@Westineast thanks for the details! Please let us know if your TF changes. It’s tortute waiting and it sounds like you’ve got a really great chance so your blank TF is a little comforting
@sleeplessgal101 I will definitely keep you posted on my TF status. For what it’s worth, though, when I got the email requesting more information it specified that it did not mean that I was accepted and that it was only information to help my placement IF I get accepted. While I hope it’s a good sign, I don’t want to count my chickens.

@missleka: thanks for sharing this article. While I may agree that there has been a halt in total number of applicants in the last few years, I don’t think TFA is lowering their standards to fill in any gaps. The article is definitely lacking information and it is a very generalized statement to say the least.
Update: I was emailed today to send in additional documents for the TF as well
I logged in to check my TF status for the millionth time and I had 3 little ‘yes’ next to ‘documents verified’.
I’m not taking this for granted or assuming that it means anything except that they checked my TF docs. My status is still Under Review.
For reference I submitted the docs on the first possible day, within a few hours of it becoming available (which was also the day our interview sign-ups opened). I submitted my tax-returns (i’m applying as a professional, not an undergrad), student loan docs, and credit card docs. My interview was last Wednesday and there were only 6 other people interviewing that day at my location. I have not been contacted for any supplement information (TF or otherwise)
Fingers crossed for everyone. I know this doesn’t mean too much but it will probably help me sleep and NOT want to check that page in the middle of the night.
@sleeplessgal101 That’s great news! My tf status hasn’t updated as of yet. My situation is similar to yours. I also applied at the earliest possible time and my interview was last Tuesday. I am also applying as a professional and not an undergrad. Remaining hopeful!
Ok, I noticed that after uploading additional documents it went from “Incomplete” to back to “Under review” and it does say that “you can expect an update on notification day if you submitted your documents by the required deadline.” So I think sometimes they just stop updating and just wait to do so on the actual notification day. I told myself that I would not obsess about it anymore though lol
For reference (to other people that will read this in the future) I applied as an undergrad. No background in teaching. Communications major. I think the number one piece of advice I can give after this application process is BE YOURSELF. I feel like they are not looking for ready made teachers but humble individuals that can be molded into amazing teachers because of their unique personal story/history with their own education. Obviously a passion for the mission and a true realization that educational inequity does exist is a plus. Also they really do look for those unique stories about what makes you a leader. It can be portrayed in many many ways and not just the obvious so you need to do some soul searching. Big or small they want to hear it. I really enjoyed this process. In my classes for my major we always talked about the importance of your own personal brand, I would really let that shine and don’t be afraid to think outside the box and be different

I never got a survey after the final interview although they mentioned it to me as I left that interview. Did anyone else get one? I had a theory that maybe they didn’t send them to us cause we are on the last deadline but just curious.

I would like to teach middle school science! No I did not get the survey yet, but I attended an online event last night and they said that surveys are being sent out this week sometime. I was wondering the same thing yesterday

just anecdotally i’ve seen only 1 person on these forums who says their TF documents had a ‘yes’ next to verified but got rejected. (and i’m thinking perhaps that person misunderstood the question). have you seen anyone else on these forums who says ‘yes’ docs verfieid then rejected?
I actually didn’t see that one person you talked about but no I have not seen anyone who says “yes” but got rejected. There were actually some that have all verified but never updated about their acceptance for some reason so the data is skewed a bit…
Ok so here’s an update on my situation. As previous posters have said, I hope these posts will help future tfa hopefuls as well as those who arr now going through the process along with me.
As of today, my TF documents appear to have been verified. Beneath the column labeled “Document (s) Verified by Transitional Funding” 2 of the 3 documents requested from me have “yes” beside them and 1 of the 3 has “n/a” beside it. I’m not to sure as to what that means because I did upload the requested document. Prior to today, there was nothing in that column. Also, my status is still listed as being under review.
My final interview was last Tuesday, which was April 7th. I also applied for TF prior to the April 9th deadline. I am, as previously mentioned, applying as a professional and not an undergrad. There were only 5 other candidates at my final interview.
I am so happy that I found this forum because it does help take away some of the anxiety. Now that my TF status has changed, it is one less thing I have on my list to obsess over.
And I have not received another survey as of yet.
