Teach for America 2015 Corps

Just found this forum and figured since we are in the home stretch, I could share this nervousness!

Share them because I am so overwhelmed :((

Hi There-

I’m also a newbie. I interviewed in Miami and I have been patiently waiting for today like you all. I noticed a lot of you talking about the Transitional Funding application. I never did mine, I figured I would wait to know and cross that bridge when I get there. Hopefully that is not going to affect their final decision on my application

@TFAPrayersUp2015 Welcome! To be honest I did not know anything about the tf status stuff until I came across this forum. It just gave me something more to worry about lol. I think you have another opportunity to apply for funding. I believe it has to be completed by May 5th???

So when do we expect to hear back? Is it by 6pm or no earlier than 6pm? Good luck everyone! Also–anyone else thinking about Americorp NCCC?

What was the earliest time that someone reported that they found out whether they had been accepted or not for the last deadline?

@catsanddogs93 @fingerscrossedt I’m hoping to hear back the same time I did when I was told I had a phone interview and a final interview, which was at about 10:30am PST…

I’ve never heard about Americorp NCCC but I just applied for the Americorps city year program… I’m still crossing my fingers for TFA or a University for my elementary education credential.

Yes, I applied to City Year too! Seems like a great stepping stone to TFA too. NCCC is 10 months of service, groups of 10 (ages 18-24) travel around and work on 4-6 big projects. I got into the program in the Pacific Coast, but unfortunately, I will have to decide before I hear back from City Year since my app for City Year isn’t quite finished.

@fingerscrossedt I just did some stalking on this convo and it looks like the first person posted that they got accepted at 2:28pm lol

Ahhh welcome newcomers!

Do you know if your able to attend school while with City Year? This is actually something I don’t even know and would heavily influence whether I would go for it if offered to me. I’m sort of in a “limbo” situation of not knowing what’s going to happen, since I haven’t received answers from anything I’ve applied for, but I keep telling myself “this too shall pass” and “what will be, will be”. NCCC sounds like a great traveling opportunity!! Something I have always wanted to do.

As of 10:20am PST, no decision on my application.

Last DL notifications started coming in around 2:30PM ET. Just checked

Congratulations on getting accepted to NCCC @catsanddogs93

I am SOOOO nervous. It won’t even let me log into the applicant center. It say ERROR 404. Is that just my computer or is everyone having this same problem? Only a few more minutes and we will all know something. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! Don’t forget to stay in touch after you find out your results and be sure to fill out the Survey Repost that @missleka

Repost of this survey template:

Accepted or Rejected?
Invited Directly to Final Interview/Phone Interview first?
Applied for Transitional Funding?
If yes, were your documents verified:
Was your status ever listed as Incomplete?
Did your TF Status change to Complete at any time?
Subject and Location:

@culb2015 that happens to me from time to time, just refresh and login once again…should work.

Update: I am getting error messages too right now…There system might be updating AHHHH lol

I don’t think you can attend school during City Year–maybe depending on your location and if night classes and online classes are frequently available. It seems like long days, at least 40 hours a week, but I’m not really sure. And there are two periods for NCCC- you can serve from October-July which is what I would do or February- December–the deadline for that is October 1! You should keep it in mind!!!

@catsanddogs93 I definitely will! thanks  I’ve been browsing their site to pass the time…this morning has been going by SOOOO slow haha!

Most of the emails have come between 2:30 and 4:00 for me previously, so I’m assuming it will be the same this time. I don’t even want to look until I know it’s been updated.

@tc1981 PST or EST?
