Teach for America 2016 Corps

Am I the only one who applied for the last deadline and is waiting for an April 25th decision?

@philojunkie I also applied and am waiting for the April 25th decision. Good luck to you! In what region did you interview?

@HappyChick45 awesome! Glad I’m not alone! I interviewed in Berkeley, CA. You?

Dallas Fort Worth Region. Can’t wait till Monday…

@philojunkie @HappyChick45 Me too!!! I’m waiting for Monday!! I’ve been stalking this thread for about two weeks. lol.

I am also waiting on the 25th, anyone seen any changes in their transitional funding status, mine is still saying under review. Interviewed in Baton Rouge on the 8th and haven’t seen any changes.

I am also waiting on the 25th. I interviewed in Richmond, VA. My transitional funding status is still under review but my documents have been verified with a yes next to them. This happened around the 15th. What regions and subjects are you all hoping for?

Shoot, my TF documents don’t have a “yes” - I wonder what that means…what’s the status of the rest of yours? Also I’m hoping to teach in either NYC, Chicago, Seattle (city areas) and I’m open to teaching anything but hoping for high school.

Mine doesn’t have a yes either, just saying under review every since I submitted them on March 28th. I put as my most preferable choices either Houston or San Antonio. I’ll take anything but ECE. I hope it goes well for everyone, but if it doesn’t maybe we can try again, and lets all please post back after we get the results to help others coming after us. This is nerve wracking!!! [-O<

if you have a yes, then you are probably in

@tcarter003 It’s really nerve-wracking, because I feel like most people who have a “yes” got in :frowning: I’ll try not to stress too much about it, though. And yeah, I also don’t really want to teach ECE - if that’s where they put me, I’m not sure what I would do.

Waiting on the 25th. I have Yes’s and sent further documentation on the 15th. Final in Nashville, TN. I have a request for Nashville due to education (Doctorate program). I will fit in where they need me and look forward to the experience. Congratulations to everyone participating and working to make the world around you better. Never lose faith and quit. This is one of many paths to explore and if it is not a good fit, remember there is a perfect fit for you. You have to keep on knocking. Best to all of you.

I interviewed in Jacksonville, Florida. It says under review on my TF with “Yes”, but I don’t want to jinx it by thinking that is a good sign lol. Well crap I guess I just said it. I just jinxed myself. oy vey. My choices were all over the place, but mainly cities with warmer climates. Good luck to everyone!

My top regions were New Orleans, Washington, and Colorado. At the interview they had a pamphlet encouraging us to choose Oklahoma as a top region. Did anyone else have this?
Also, I unfortunately do not have any of my documents verified, which kinda bums me out. Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it now. I kinda wish I didn’t read this board to learn about that trick. No worries, though, on the the next thing. Good luck to you all!

My top regions were Eastern NC, NC Piedmont Triad, and Charlotte. I pretty much preferred anything in the southeast region. At my final interview they handed out a flyer encouraging us to consider Mississippi. Also prior to the final interview, I received an email invite to a webinar on NC regions. They reached out to applicants with ties to NC, whether they were originally from NC or had just gone to school to NC. They just discussed the regions and encouraged us to consider NC regions when filling out our preferences. I was already considering these regions prior but just wanted more information on the Eastern NC region because the website doesn’t specify where in Eastern NC placements are.

I wouldn’t be bummed out just yet. I’m sure some people’s documents aren’t verified until decision day. There is still a chance! Good luck everyone!

Don’t get bummed out!! I read in past threads that some people that were accepted didn’t have anything change until the day of notification. Keep up the positive vibes!!!

@Bfiggie SC has reciprocity agreement with Maryland. Why is your certification not accepted? Is it an ADEPT issue? What type of masters do you want and what university is it? My D is teacher in SC and might can give you some ideas.

I dunno guys, I just get this feeling that I’m going to be rejected. I don’t feel like my sample teach went very well…we’ll see - I won’t say I can know for sure, trying to stay hopeful!

Hi all. Just want to chime in and add some words of encouragement for the waiting process.

I applied for early notification and was notified of acceptance on the 15th instead of the 25th. My documents did switch to a ‘YES’ on this date (or the day before, I can’t remember) and the email came in later in the evening (after 5PM).

I, however, don’t think this is a ‘real’ indicator of getting in or not, as others have stated. Best of luck everyone.

The anxiety has set in. I am waiting on Monday 4/25… I have been contacted multiple times about my TF. It is currently still under review but I have all YES’. I am so anxious about receiving an acceptance and assignment!!! This weekend is going to be so long. My first choices were DC and Baltimore for Elementary Education and Special education… I am nervous about it being the last DL and me being sent to MS -_- that’s my least preferred. Good luck everyone.
