Lol I wish there was another indicator telling us about our regional assignment on the site… I think the recruiter for my school said we get a personal phone call in the afternoon
@coco5945 DC with a special circumstance wbu
I put Baltimore with a special circumstance - I hope it works out because I’d like to stay teaching wherever I’m assigned.
Idk how much they honor special circumstances but I hope it works out for us
I’m currently a nervous wreck!!
@goldenbear17 the bay area! I’m hoping to be placed in California. Does anyone know the percentage of applicants placed in their high preference region?
@coco5945 It’s really hard to tell. I read through this entire post, some got their first and some got their last choice.
@Ranza123 Is that the Cornell University bell tower in your photo?
@HopingforTFA2019 yep! I’m a senior at Cornell right now.
@Ranza123 Lucky you! Cornell was my first choice school, but I wasn’t able to afford it. I did a Summer at their Summer College program for high schoolers quite a few years ago and it was just simply incredible. Beautiful campus, wonderful professors!
@hopingforTFA2019 yes I love it here and I love Ithaca! I grew up just outside Ithaca so I’ve spent my whole life in rural upstate New York. Chicago is going to be a huge change!
@Ranza123 That will be a huge change, indeed! I live in Illinois now and am really hoping to move out of the state soon, whether I get into TFA or not. However, I don’t live near Chicago, so perhaps it will be a nice lively change from Ithaca!
Roughly 24 hours until we find out where we are living for the next two years… no big deal.
Does anyone know if the codes on our page will change to let us know an indication of our regional assignment early?
@Hope2dowell Nah there hasn’t ever seemed to be an early indication of regional assignment. Just do your best to keep yourself distracted tomorrow! I think I heard back around 1 or 1:30 CST. The site will shut down (there will be an error code) while they update it, then it’ll come back up and you’ll have to complete a survey before they show you your assignment. It was one of the most nerve-wracking days of my life. You’ll all make it through, though!
What are the chances of getting into your highly preferred areas? I put San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth as my top three with 7-8 choices for my preferred subjects, so I hope that being flexible with teaching will work in my favor!
Where does everyone hope to be placed?
@TFATexas2018 I’m wondering the same! It seems like half…? If you methodically listed and ranked your regions to subjects highly in need then you should get one of the three! I’m hoping to be placed in LA or Bay Area and I highly preferred special ed, math, & science
I’m already hitting refresh. Lol
Me too lol
this is unhealthy lol
