Teach For America- 2018 Corps

Those Accept Offer/Decline Offer lines respond to different conditions. It more than likely does not mean anything. Sorry, I’m not trying to burst anyone’s bubble!! Just telling you what I’ve learned about codes!!

@HopingForTFA2019 I figured it didn’t mean anything, i was just hoping that there will be a code change lol! But just have to continue to wait…

I feel like my interview was so long ago and not just a week! :)) Anyone else feeling like it has taken twice as long to get through this week??

Yes!!! I had a lot of school assignments due this week so I thought the week would go by fast because I’m busy but nope!!! Every minute drags!

Yeah I am hoping that this weekend goes by fast since it is the weekend LOL!

OMG! The interview feels like a lifetime ago!!! Longest week ever!!

But it’s nice to know there are people just as anxious as me!

Did you all just get the email about the High Priority areas??? Because when I saw ‘TFA Admissions’ in my inbox my heart literally went up into my throat and then down into the pits of my stomach! They have got to stop messing with my emotions! :))

Yes!!! I totally got that too, they are teasing us haha! On a side note, did anyone apply for Transitional Funding and does it still say Under Review like mine? (Wondering if that has anything to do with it)

I did not apply for Transitional Funding, but I highly doubt applying for TF will affect the outcome! They probably will not post that it has been approved until after the results on Monday.

I got the email too and I was hoping it was somehow an early notification decision LOL. I thought we couldn’t apply for transitional funding until fall 2018 if we are early applicants??

@TFA2019Corps I am an early applicant and I had the option to apply for transitional funding. I think the deadline was the fourth?

That’s so weird since for me it says “Early applicants admitted to the 2019 corps will be eligible to apply for transitional funding beginning in the fall of 2018” on the transitional funding area.

I’m also an early 2019 applicant, so I can’t apply for TF yet.

That’s so weird! It was definitely an option for me in my applicant center.

I wonder if you accidentally put it in graduation in 2018 instead of 2019??

Nope. Definitely 2019. Not only did my interviewer confirm that when looking at my application, but you can see the graduation date listed in the code.
Perhaps it just provided all the TF information and then said something about not being able to apply until 2018 Fall. I knew I wasn’t going to apply for it, so I didn’t really read it too carefully.

It went to my junk email so I didn’t see it at first, but yes I received it too! I’m also an early applicant so I can’t apply for transitional funds until fall 2018.

Yeah, you guys are right. I just went back to the Applicant Center and looked. Mine also says that I would wait until Fall. I guess I just saw the due date and thought that it was open to apply for! My bad!!

Did anyone else notice in that email that South Carolina was listed? Do you think this means it will be listed as a High Priority when this round of applicants gets to create their lists? I know we have to have at least one High Priority region, and I was not super happy with the region I was going to select if I got in. But, if SC is a High Priority now, that will definitely shake some things up (for me, at least)!
