I don’t have timeline, app null, and final eval
It’s up!!! I got in!!!
Ahhhh! I got in!!!
Congrats everyone! I got in as well!!!
Congrats!!!
I got in!!! OMGGGG
I GOT IN!!! Wow I almost can’t believe it! I’m stoked! Does anyone know if we will receive an actual email with our acceptance or something? I wanna send my mom a picture (screenshot) but can’t find anything hahaha
I think the email just tells you to check your applicant center…or so I’ve read. It’ll probably come after five like our other emails said.
Oh darn I thought we would get one like for the interview. But congrats everyone!!!
Um… why am I eligible to teach French?! Lol!
I did not take a foreign language in college whatsoever and I can teach french too…I was like what? lol
Did anyone apply for transitional funding? Do you guys know when we will find out if we were approved and the amount?
I applied but not sure when we will know
So, I had actually found the regional comparison spreadsheet a couple weeks ago and have been doing all of my research and planning for quite some time. I just submitted my list and I hit panic mode!! My spouse was in the military, so I’m used to getting orders and sent all across the country/world, but now that it’s for MY job, I feel all this pressure to get what’s best for us! I know it’s totally out of my hands right now, but is anyone else feeling this intense pressure for your family? Or is everyone else here younger/still in school? I’d just like to have someone who can relate, I suppose.
I am younger, but my spouse is also in the military. He’s stationed in New England so he can’t actually come with me if I were to get a different region. So I’m not feeling pressured, just a little anxious over possible long distance. But moving is always stressful for a variety of reasons. I’m sure everything will be fine in the end!
@HopingForTFA2019 I am panic mode as well. I was hoping to get placed in Memphis as I have special circumstances but it isn’t even an option. I am excited, but I am nervous to move with my child.
@TFAApplicant2019 Yes, the military spouse stress!! My spouse actually just got out last September, but he is doing SO well in his career field that I can’t ask him to take a step down when we get a TFA assignment. But, I suppose we will cross that bridge when the time comes. Have you dealt with a deployment or short tour yet? Hopefully you have that experience and it will make things easier! Or perhaps you’ll get put someplace near a base, I know I listed places that were near bases on purpose. When my spouse and I got married, he shipped off to Korea for a year 2 months after the wedding, so distance is hard, but it does make you stronger! If you ever need to talk about it, I’m an understanding ear! (:
@TFAmemphis18 Good luck to you! That’s hard when you need to be in one specific area. I don’t remember, was Memphis a region that had more applicants than spots available?
2019 Corps members, has anyone seen when we will find out what grades and subjects we are teaching? I know it is in the Fall, but just wondering if anyone has seen any specifics on it. I would assume it would be released at the same time as the first deadline regional assignments.
@HopingForTFA2019 hi! i was EDL 2018 corps, I found out March 2018 of my acceptance and regional placement. Subject assignment will vary based on your region. I found out in September 2018. For the most part, your regions are still focusing on onboarding 2018 corps members so be prepared to feel swept to the side for a few months until the fall lol
Hi @PassionForChange! Thanks so much!
