Teacher/Counselor Recs - What is put as the return address?

Hey guys. . .alot of schools ask that I give stamped envelopes to teachers for the recommendations.

On the envelopes, do I put my name an address as the return address? or do I leave it for them to fill out? or do I put the school’s?

I suppose i’m a bit confused.

Would appreciate some information, thanks.

I've read a post awhile back say that you put the school's address, which makes sense to me

I personally just left it blank and the teacher can either use the school or their home address.

do not put your own address!!! either school's or the teacher's home address

If you give your teacher a stamped addressed envelope the school will have a 'return address' stamp they can use. Or just give your teacher a postage stamp and s/he can use a school envelope.

School address or leave it blank. Definitely NOT your address.

I asked my teacher and she told me she would fill it out w/ a stamp, i think..

So you could ask your teacher to see what he/she has to say

Uh oh, I think on one of mine I put my return address. My teacher had given it to me with just the mailing label on so I put the address. Will it really hurt me, or will the actual admittance people even see it?

flipchick--it won't even be noticed by the clerical help who opens the envelopes, I'm sure. But the reason for not having your address in the return spot is that on the off chance that the letter is sent back (insufficient postage, or whatever), the letter should go back to the person who wrote it--protects the confidentiality of the letter.
