Teacher hasn't sumbitted letters of rec and deadlines are apporaching

Back in early November, I requested 3 letters of rec from one of my teachers and he agreed to write them. Now the deadlines for those letters are approaching and he hasn't submitted any of them. I have even submitted the email request thing from the common app and still no letters.

What would be a polite way of asking him to submit them? I was thinking of writing a thank-you card. If I do this, should I hand it to him in person or leave it in his teacher's mailbox?

Thanks in advance

If he hasn’t submitted them yet, I’d just politely remind him in person.

I wouldn’t use a card. I would just say something like, “Hey Mr. _, I just wanted to remind you that my letters are due soon.”

And don’t forget to thank him.

I agree with carpeDyum.

Yup, remind him in person. He made an agreement to do them and he has obligation to stick to that.

Who knows, it could just be a misunderstanding. I was freaking out because one of my teacher recs wasn’t in 2 days before a deadline. I went and talked to him and it turns out he’d been trying to contact me by putting my name on the 9th hour announcements for 2 weeks (I have 9th hour off and thus never heard them) because the CommonApp email had never reached him and he didn’t know where to send the rec he wrote for me.
