Teacher Obsession?

Essay Topic: Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you.

Would it be somewhat weird if I wrote about my French teacher, who would also write one of my letter of recommendations? I don't know if I should vary it up, but my French teacher has had a major influence on my outlook of life and my motivation to continue studying not only French, but some of my other subjects. I'm applying to one of the colleges that accepted her when she applied back in the day. She's also one of the few teachers who could write me a genuine letter of recommendation.

Is it too much? Should I write about someone else, such as an adult figure or parent or sibling? Or should I write about my teacher and ask another teacher a the letter of recomm?

Thank you!

Go for it! It makes sense that she write your letter of rec if she has been so influentual.

if it is the truth, you write it

As long as speaking about it can reflect who you are as a person, while taking care to avoid cliches (“I am a(n) [adjective] person because of her.” “She taught me to be [values].” etc.) the topic will work.
