Today in Chemistry we took our Stoichiometry test. That test was hard... I didn't even get finished. Those equations were really hard to balance. So I told my chemistry teacher:

"How can I finish this?"

"During school," she said.

"What do you mean?"

"Come in during your classes."

I can't remember what else I said but I think I said I had test in Algebra II, and a project in Pre-Vet, so I can't leave my classes to take the test. So I asked her can I do it after school. She raised her voice and said no. I was shocked and snapped back and said:

"What's wrong with you?!" I regret saying this, but this really got the best of me. I really couldn't understand why she wouldn't let me finish the test after school. After that, I said:

"How am I suppose to finish my test!? Maybe if you actually teach I could have gotten my test done." Again, I was really angry at this point.

To end this, I couldn't come in to get my test finished so therefore I probably got a F on that test and it'll bring my B to a C. This really sucks right now, and I can't do anything about it. It's almost the end of the year with like 3 or 4 weeks left and I can't afford to get a C in anything.

uh, are you writing a novel? And maybe you should apologize to her and ask if you could retake the test. Also speak with your consular they can help.

You really messed up. I’d apologize profusely. I’d feel awful if I ever said that to any of my teachers… I can’t believe she let you get away with that.

I had an exact same situation today. Chemistry Equilibrium + Le Chatelier’s Principle Test. Was told it was going to be a 1 page, 10 pt test. Turned out to be over 4 pages long. How did we learn the material? We received an e-mail by the teacher on Monday with a pdf containing 20 chapter pages on the subject (Le Chatelier only… equilibrium is easy).

On Wednesday, the teacher told us to take notes because he had to finish grading papers the entire class. Today, we had this fun test. Either I got an A (missed 1 question I know for sure) or I got an F (I interchanged the definitions because he put really specific cases that the book didn’t explain and I was like *** as two definitions could apply)

I was encouraged by other teachers to take this case to the administration, and so I have. Let’s see how it ends up.

Fantasy Vesperia: Everyone’s taking your teacher’s side. I think you were at least partially right. I don’t like teachers who are so unreasonable and/or act like bullies. I’ve said stuff like that to teachers too…Middle School Band director ticks me off just thinking about him. I always did apologize though- which you should do. Also you could’ve asked about lunch. Overall I don’t blame you.

You might have been frustrated, but you just dug yourself a gigantic hole. Teachers talk to each other, too.

A couple things:
Part of chemistry is learning it so well that you can do it quickly. I know that my chem tests were always timed.
It is not your teacher’s fault. It’s yours. It doesn’t matter how awful they are - you have a textbook. Read it twice, do all the practice problems, ask from help from your teacher or your friends or whoever. You have all the resources you need. The only exception to this is when teachers put things on tests that weren’t in the book or in any notes.

I understand where you guys are coming from, but I had a problem with her since the beginning of the school year, many students in my class got in a little “fight” with her. Balancing equations is not my thing, I can do them it’s just it takes a LONG time for me to do them. I told her that I’ll will trouble on this test because balancing is my weakness. Stoichiometry isn’t hard, it’s just the balancing that gets me every time. That’ll explain the 61% on my Balancing/Chemical Reactions test… I will apologize though… I couldn’t do it at lunch because she thinks doing things at lunch disturbs her and the students eating/hang out time. That day was just really bad for me and I really don’t understand how teachers can away with things while the administration and peers blame students for doing their work.

I’ve received e-mails from the school and my teacher for my actions, which really weren’t that big of a deal in the first place. For my consequences, know one will ever know, because this one girl got suspended for 4 days for yelling at a girl… I guess it’s my fault for finding flexible times to take my test and the teacher flips out on me… so yeah…
