Collegeboard wants to charge us like what $9 to send sat scores to more then like 5 colleges. But I want to apply to around 10 and I don't want to pay the extra money, so is there a way to send the sat scores yourself (and how) or does it have to be "offically" from collegeboard?

Also, if you do the online app, how do you send in the teach's rec? Send it by mail? But can you just scan it and send it over the net? Thx, its 2:45 and I better go back to sleep

Don't be cheap now. Use collegeboard to mail your scores so you don't have to worry about that. Send the teacher's rec by mail, if only to humor them.

Yeah, you just mail the teacher recs, and seriously, compared to the application fees themselves, this is chump change, imagine having to do that for 12 colleges [wait I did that, and I hated CB for life after that ;):p] Well happy spending.

YOU don't send the teacher's rec. The teacher sends it. In fact, many schools will frown upon a teacher's rec sent in by the student. You may not even get a chance to view teacher's recs, although some may provide you with a copy for your records.

You will provide your teacher(s) with a stamped envelope (addressed to the school/s) as well as a rec form, which some colleges will provide. Be kind and place a post-it on the envelope with the date it is due to the school, your teacher will do the rest.

I don't know about you, but the policy in our school is that when applying to colleges that everything must be sent in one mailing, so... the teacher could just drop it off in the guidance office, but they'll usually just give it to the student, who will usually read it along the way from the classroom to the guidance office.

thanks for the reply, but if I apply to 10 schools, then my teach will have to send in 10 recs? I'm just afraid that my teacher will think I'm giving them too much work or that I'm too insecure...

well if you're doing any common app [which saved my life with my 12 :)] then you could just copy each form, plus, and I don't mean to trivialize the amount of work a teacher does for the rec, but I know in our school teachers instead write a letter and will often just say see attached for the actual paper rec, and will just do all the simple check-offs and simple paperwork, or at least that's what they do to save time, so...
