I'm applying through Common App, and have pretty much everything done. I'm just about to submit and mail in the teacher recommendations. However, the only thing I found that the teachers needed to fill out was the Common App form which is made up of 15 checkmarks.

Do they actually have to write a letter too, or is this form, the letter?

I plan to mail in the morning, so I hope this is all we need.

They usually do need to include a letter along with the checkmarks. You need to ask them, of course.

If you’ll notice at the end of that supplement with check-boxes, there is a place for teachers to ‘attach’ a letter/narrative, and most teachers do.

Oh I didn’t see that. I talked with my teachers today, and they were all excited to write one for me anyways.

Thanks everyone!

If you’re not submitting online and you want copies in hand for each teacher rec, I’d also have them sign across the seal-- that’s SOP for physical letters of rec given to the student.

Yes, they’re physically writing them then mailing them.
