teacher rec question- online v paper?

ok, so you know how colleges say that if you start your app online, you should complete all parts of it online?
my question is this: can teachers still complete recommendations on paper? because about three of my teachers insist on writing my recs on paper and sending them in that way. This is normal, right?

Pretty normal sounding to me! :)

so this won't get me into trouble? an online app with paper rec's?

I shouldn't think so, but I could be wrong.

On the common app it says that the application, fee and supplements must be finished on line if begun on line. I took that to mean that any of the other, non-mentioned materials required to complete the file could be sent in on paper.

thanks for the help guys!

You can have them sent in.

This is from the Common App Support Center:
"Yes, you can submit your application online even if the teachers/counselors elect to complete hardcopy forms. If the school forms are online, the teacher/counselor may opt out of using the online form by clicking the link within the notification email. Please encourage the teachers and counselors to fill out the forms online, however, since this process is much easier for the schools."

Also, keep this in mind:
"The teacher and counselor recommendation process is to be completed either all online or all offline. The college admissions offices do not want to receive the forms online and then receive paper evaluations and transcripts on paper. If there is a part of the online process that the counselor or teacher is unable to complete, the only choice is to opt out and do the form on paper."
