In most cases, no. Once you've decided on your final list of schools, you'll get the recommendation forms and give them to the teachers who will write your recommendations. Standard rule of thumb is to give teachers 4-6 weeks before the application deadline to write and send your rec's. In the meantime, however, you should be sending the rest of your application materials. Do not wait until after the teachers have sent the recommendations to send your part of the application.</p>
