Basically, is it a good idea to have two history teachers write me recommendations for college? I'm definitely getting one teacher for sure who teaches english and history classes, because she likes me, writes well, and will definitely put time into the application. I can't decide who to get for my second recommendation though. I have the option of a history teacher who'll write a good rec, or a science teacher who likes me but isn't too great at writing and will probably write a short/medium length okay written rec. Basically, who should I pick? I just wanted to make sure it wasn't bad to pick two history teachers for recs, because I really don't want to get the science teacher to write me one.

Since the point of a rec is primarily to show the student in a light beyond just numbers, I’d go with the better writer. If you “really don’t want to get the science teacher to write you one”, you probably don’t have the best connection with the teacher and won’t get a great rec letter out of him/her.

I have a good connection with the science teacher and she likes me as a student. I have no problem asking her to write me one, I just don’t want to get her to write me one because she’s bad at writing, and I don’t think she really realizes how important this is to my application.
