Teacher reccomendations, and Block schedualing. How to deal with the issue

Ok, well after finding this site 3 days ago, I have gotten so much help that I have found out that my best fit school is Andover! So, at the moment I am signing up for standardized testing. I know that I should ask for teacher reccomendations early, but I have a dilemna. I am in 9th grade at a school with block schedualing. I have searched the site to my ability and have found nothing on this topic. I have math now, but I do not start literacy until the middle of January, past when the reccomendations are due. Should I call up the school and ask? Or should I just get my last year literacy teacher's reccomendation? Any experience with this?

They only need English and Math teacher recommendations.

I don’t have English( literacy) until mid- January…

In that case, I’m sure they’ll let you go with an English teacher from last year. They’ll understand that you don’t have the class during the application period due to block scheduling. Of course, I don’t know their specific policy, so I would contact the school to see specifically what they want to be safe.

You’ve already asked this question in another thread and gotten an answer: contact the school!

If you don’t feel comfortable contacting the school admissions office (which is there specifically to help prospective students answer these kinds of questions), how in the world will you fend for yourself as a student at Andover???

I do believe that I’ve read somewhere that if you don’t have English this semester, that your previous English teacher would suffice for filling out the recommendation (I’m on block scheduling as well, but my school has year-round English class. One semester of Literature, and one semester of composition and grammar.). I would also make sure you have backup schools just in case because of the low acceptance rate of Andover. It’s in my top as well, but I want to be an Exonian (GO BIG RED!) more than an An…dovian…? XD
