On the site they say "We encourage you to submit at least one recommendation from a teacher." does that mean that one is sufficient or more the better?

I would suggest submitting two or three from people (teachers, coaches) who can attest to your character strengths and academic ability. Any recs in excess of 3 will likely not be read and not submitting any might look bad. However, one of my friends forgot to send in recs when he applied and he was accepted...but he has a 1470, was 5th in the class and was an eagle scout.

I'm not sure of how much the admissions office at UVA weighs the letter of recommendation from a teacher. Last year, I did not send in a teacher recommendation, yet I was accepted.

cool thanks. i already posted my stats somewhere else but you can have a look if you want: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=92406&highlight=hugeuge2k
think i got a shot at uva? im thinking about applying there early now.

You've got a great shot at UVA. Applying early will certainly help you and would be advised if it's your top choice. I'm thoroughly enjoying my time here and recommend it highly.

thanks man. i really like uva a lot, but also liked duke, but not quite as much. so ill have to decide by november 1st where to apply early. think i could get into uva regular decision?

uhm this is mad delayed but its sorta urgent. i wondering if i had a good shot at uva regular decision, because i'd like to have some options open rather than be locked in, even though i love uva. if i have a good shot at regular than there is no need for early right? any comments appreciated.
