Teacher Recomendations Too Early?

I'm a little nervous that my teacher reccomendations might have gone out too early.

I'm applying to Vassar ED and I already gave two teachers rec forms because I figured they would take a few weeks to get out. Last week, one teacher told me she already sent out the reccomendation, but I probably won't be sending out my application for a few weeks. Is this something that usually happens? Will Vassar be confused if they randomly get a teacher reccomendation? Or will they figure the rest of my app is on the way and start a file (or whatever they do) for me?

The first thing the college recieves (e.g., recs, SAT, apllication) starts the file. From then on, they place everything else they recieve in that file. It doesnt really matter what comes first. You're fine.

thanks

bump

except for Stanford, they require part one before anything...

some schools require a part 1 first (not just stanfie) but they explicity say it, otherwise you're fine.

So what would they do if they just get a teacher reccomendation before a Part 1? Hopefully they wouldn't just throw it out.. :-</p>

why don't you ask them to withold it for a certain amount of time until you've submitted part 1?

It's doubtful that they'd throw it out, xgreen - they'll probably still start your file in a pending mode. I'm sure occasionally Part 1 apps go astray or are delayed. Just be sure your recs are labeled with your name and SS#.
