Teacher Recommendation Problem

I'm quite confused about the recommendation process. I had gotten a recommendation from a teacher last year knowing that he would be retiring. I'm planning on using it for multiple colleges though I only have one copy of the recommendation. I have no way of contacting him, and I'm quite baffled at what to do. Do I simply make a copy of the recommendation?

Normally, the teacher has to mail it in themselves, often along with a short questionare type thing about how you were as a student. You should probably ask you guidance counselor about it as soon as possible, but you should also consider what other teachers you might ask if it didn't work out. If you explain the situation, the gc or somebody in the main office might be able to give you his contact info. Good luck.
