Hey everybody. I hope that you are all doing well. If it’s okay, I just wanted to ask a question I have about teacher recommendations.
I won’t go into specific details as I don’t want to reveal too much of my identity, but I am a junior who is about to finish is senior year in June. I am hoping to major in Creative Writing and/or English, most likely both. Because I will be applying to some schools in the fall, I have recently decided that I would like to ask my current English teacher for a recommendation alongside my senior year Science teacher.
However, I wanted to ask if it would be alright to ask a recommendation for my next year Science teacher. I have noticed some of the schools I would like to apply to, such as Wesleyan, has stated that they recommend that a teacher rec is from a junior or senior year teacher. I have known my soon to be Science teacher since the ninth grade. We get along very well because I have been part of an organization since then, and I feel that he can speak about my personal qualities and character more than any other staff member I know simply because of how close we are. Do you think it would be okay to receive a letter of recommendation from him even though he won’t teach me until next fall?
Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks for your help and have a nice day.
