Would colleges be okay if you ask a teacher reccomendation from a teacher who has had you for 2 years back to back, but for sophomore and freshmen year?

You could but it’s more common to ask to get a rec from a teacher who you’ve had junior or senior year.

I don’t know that it’s more common to ask for a junior/senior rec. Teachers you have in senior year for the first time might not be able to give as accurate an assessment (in the month or 2 they have you before you request the letter) as one who had you for an entire year. The quality of the rec is probably more important than the year that teacher had you in class. If the teacher from your fresh/soph year knows you well and will give you an excellent LOR, then by all means ask that teacher. Good luck!

Unless the college has a drop dead requirement that the LOR come from a junior/senior year teacher, go with the teachers who know you best. My S got a great LOR from his sophomore year AP Calc teacher. The other is from his AP English teacher, who is now having him for the third year (some classes are team taught and she is a wonderful teacher going into her 40th year of teaching.)
