<p>How important are teacher recommendations? Are they more important than SAT? How much will it hurt if a teacher writes that I "don't participate"</p>
<p>Since the assumption is that the people selected for teacher recommendations would be those who know the student best, I'd think that a less-than-stellar recommendation would not be a good thing. good luck..</p>
