How do I send the common app link to my teachers in order for them to send their recommendation through common app? I tried doing it before but it didn't seem to work..

Thank you.

You go to “School forms” and put their name and email address in, one counselor and two teachers. (Click “Invite Official” to add more). Then click “Send” i think it says send at the bottom or somewhere, and they should all get an email

Thank you. However I am unable to see that page on the common app since it says, quote: “You have not yet provided information about your secondary school. Please go to the Education section and complete the Secondary School section before starting your School Forms.”

The only thing that isn’t filled out on my Education section is the CEEB/ACT Code. I can’t find my school on there (i’m an international student). How do I proceed?

Click the “look up” link and perform two searches. After the second search, you’ll see a “not found” link at the bottom of the search results screen. Click that to proceed. For a more detailed explanation, click Help from within your account and do a keyword search for “CEEB.”

Thank you. This worked now!

I have just filled out the common app for one university that I’m not so certain about. Should I go ahead and invite my school officials (through the school forms on common app), before I have my college list done on common app? Will the recommendations be sent out to the one uni that i have on common app at the moment or will the recom. be sent once I have my list pulled together?

if you send them now, they’ll only go the college on your list. Everytime you add a college you have to invite the officials again (but their names are on a drop down list so you don’t have to type their name and email again). Plus, the teachers send the recommendations themselves

Oh okay, I thought however that you have the option to mix and match different teachers to different colleges.

Before Inviting my officials Common App says:
" I understand that, upon inviting a School Official, I will no longer be able to alter my Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) release authorization. "

What is the Family Education Rights? Is it the Family Section on Common App? I don’t understand what they mean.

Thank you
