Teacher Recommendations on CommonApp

Hey there everyone!

So I am applying to 11 schools this year through the Common App and each one requires 1-3 teacher recommendations. Obviously, I am not going to get 11-33 separate teacher recommendations with each one appealing to one of the 11 schools. My guidance counselor told me to just select 2-3 teachers for recommendations and tell them to leave the name of the institution/college blank. I believe the Common App works differently than that so how exactly should I proceed with getting recommendations for Common App? Thanks guys!

You load them into the common app and the same set are used for all of the colleges you apply to. Usually schools ask for one counselor and one or two teacher recommendations. Make sure that they know you very, very well and give them as much notice as possible.

Okay so when I go to each school that I have listed under “My Colleges” and it asks for the teacher recommendations, it is not just asking for that school? It will collect the recommendations separately in its database and just send them out to colleges I ask it to?
