I had 2 of my teachers write me letter of rec, but I'm wondering if they'll be notified about which schools I apply to/send their letters to. Also, what is the normal way to thank them? A card and maybe a gift? Any gift ideas? I really love these teachers and want them to know that I truly appreciate that they wrote these out for me.

I think the best way is a hand-written thank you note and cookies. If you take the time to write out a note, and to bake them yourself, it really means a lot more than typing something up or buying something at the store. Also, a lot of times the cards are a total surprise- my teacher was so excited that she wrote me a thank-you note.

There’s already at least one huge thread on CC about thanking teachers.
