I am hoping to apply ED to Wes. Without going through all my stats, I have a hard transcript, good GPA, great extracurriculars and community service etc. However, I do not standarize test well at all (to say the least).

I know that the common app. looks for 2 teacher recommendations, one from humanites/social studies teacher and one from a science/math teacher. I am thinking of potentially having 2 humanities recommendations, 1 science, the principal of my high school and a former coach (I am hoping to be an athlete at Wes). BUT, I think this is too many, correct? Should I stick to the required 2, even though I think that my recommendations could really help me and maybe make up a little for my poor SAT scores?

Don't submit all of those. The admissions office will have a small fit and then not think very well of you at all.

That said... in special cases like yours, there's really no harm in submitted ONE extra recommendation. So choose carefully - choose someone who knows you and your character very well. Also choose someone who you suspect is a fantastic writer, or will at least write a recommendation that doesn't sound generic. So try to narrow it down to three - three who will do you the most justice. :D

madjoy is giving great advice... one extra is alright... I had a computer science teacher and english teacher/eng. dept. chair write recs, then had my 8th grade algebra teacher/math dept. chair who I had kept in contact with write one as well, just because I knew hers would help (the math chair)... so find ONE AWESOME extra rec and you'll be set
