Teacher Recommendations

The site says that I need two teacher recommendations.

However, it does not indicate what subjects the teachers must teach or any other requirements.

I want to be sure because many other colleges did not indicate on their site which teachers they wanted recommendations from, but those who were able to visit and ask were told specific requirements.

I'm planning to major in English, and if they have a strict 'core subjects only' policy, then I'll be getting recs from my English and Science teacher, but I really want one from my Law teacher instead of my science teacher.

(And yes, I understand that I can also submit an additional supplement as well, but since they are teachers I'm afraid that they may provide similar information about me).

So would it be OKAY for me to obtain recs from my English and Law teacher, or must I ask my Science teacher.

as far as i think, i think it would be ok if you got it from ur law teacher, i think colleges encourage you to get them from teacherrs with whom you share a good repo.

so i think its ok , also you could also email your college of interest and ask thm if they require the letter from a specific subject teacher.

lets see what others have to say abt this…

Get all three if all will be good. It won’t hurt. If the science rec will be less glowing, don’t do it unless you are applying to the U of C, which requires it.

For D, make sure you get a peer rec from someone who will take it seriously and write something specific.

Thank you so much!

I called Dartmouth today and they said that any teachers are fine and there are no strict requirements.
