Teacher Recommendations

so, its about time we ask for teacher recommendations.
the problem is who should we ask and how many should we ask. many teachers ask their students to write their own recommendation and the teacher make corrections. anyone know what a excellent recommendation should look like?
plus. is sending 4 recommendation to a school bad?
i mean i have 4 people writing recommendations, 2 teachers from my present school, 1 teacher from my old school, and my boss from work
is it such a good idea?

basically, for the schools that i'm applying to (penn state u, college of charleston, depaul u, & loyola chicago) they ask for no more than 3 teacher recs. i think 4 might be overboard, but that is just my opinion.

I would say send no more than you were asked to send. Don't want to **** off the admissions officer with more work than they already have to do!

yeah i mean liek are they really that important. one of my teachers tell me that most kids have the same grades and sat scores anyways so what they look at is recommendations and essay

so?
????????????

I'm getting 3, and only sending 2 to each school. I want to see if the school would rather have science or math + my journalism adviser/ government teacher.

Then I'm getting one from my boss, and attaching it under additional documents on the Common App.
