<p>When you designate a teacher to write you a letter of recommendation, do they write you one for the Common Application as a whole or do they have to write a specific one for each institution to which you are applying? I have ten supplements that require teacher recommendations and I would like to know how cruel a fate I am assigning my poor teachers Thanks! :)</p>
<p>Your teachers complete a Teacher Evaluation (and accompanying written comments) only once. Each time you send your Common Application to a college, a copy of that evaluation is sent as well. (Same goes for your counselor, by the way.)</p>
<p>So, 2 of my son’s teachers wrote him letters of recommendation. Do they now have to fill out the common app rec for those schools too or can the letter of rec be sent by itself?</p>
<p>The letter of rec can be sent through the common app or sent in the mail. Either one works.</p>
