Teacher Recommendations

Does anyone know if Yale has a preference to what kind of envelopes teachers send their recs in?

I just assumed normal size (small), but a few of my friends handed in gigantic envelopes for princeton today, and now I'm worried that I gave my teachers the wrong kind.

Run to your teacher and give him/her the big envelopes. It is simple - Admission officers prefer unfolded papers over creased ones. The tiny psychological effect of a big envelope may be non-existent, but the chance to show that you care enough about going there to spend an extra dollar on postage should not be wasted.

Laughinh My Ass Out!

First of all, I believe its "laughing my ass OFF" but I'll overlook that, lol.
Hey, I bet you thought about it for a while at some point.
Lol, isn't it weird how the most minute details cause the most distress?

haha yea.

what i did was bought 9x12 envelopes and then got them prepaid by weighting them. it's about 60 cents for each thing... pretty expensive, but oh well.

...it costs extra money to send a big envelope? really? ****e....i gave my teacher only one stamp...

yes.

you didnt get them prepaid and weighted?

lol that sucks.

ivy league test right there! i like to call it a life skills test on using the post office. :)

And while you’re at it why don't you spray a whiff of your favorite cologne into the envelope so when they open it, it will smell of you and they'll know that you really, really care.

how do I add extra recs? I have two already but another teacher wants to write it. So do I get another copy of the common app and just give him the teacher rec page or do i just tell him to write it on another piece of paper?
