teacher recs for stern

For my last two years of math, I've had the worst teachers ever. I'm considering asking my freshman algebra2/trig honors teacher but it's been awhile since I've talked to her. But we got along fairly well and I achieved A's in her classes both semesters.

Should I ask her to write my recommendation letter? Or should I ask another teacher with a different background? I'm considering asking my journalism teacher, but I think it'd be weird since I'm going into business school if I had my journalism advisor write me a recommendations. But I know my journalism teacher would write me a better rec than my previous math teacher because we're a lot closer. Any ideas/suggestions?

the admissions counselor for nyu told us to get a recommendation from our Junior or Senior year teachers as it best represents the quality of your current work. As for the class the teacher teaches, I would think that it doesn't matter if you get it from a journalism teacher, as long as the teacher can describe your character and your best qualities.
