Teacher recs...PREPARATION

I'm giving out my teacher recs tomorrow and tuesday. I have a big folder that snaps close for each teacher with the following in it:

-- for each school: an addressed and stamped envelope, the actual teacher evalutation form from the school, and a "special instructions" note if there are any special instructions for each one all paper clipped together

-- a copy of my resume

do I include a general letter on the front thanking them for writing me a letter and suggestions of what to write or what?

thanks!!

I would include a general letter thanking them briefly, but leave the big "thank-you" until after the letters are written (I am planning on including a plate of homemade cookies or something that that effect!)

In my folders that I am giving teachers, I am also including a graded essay, paper, or project that I completed in that teacher's class. While a teacher may know what kind of thinker or student you are, it may be refreshing for them to re-read some comments they themselves wrote on an essay you completed. Just a suggestion.
