My school did not use the forms MIT provided for teacher reccomendations; it just used its generic form. Is this okay? I am stressing over this! Plus, I didn't realize that I was suppose to get a rec from a humanities teacher; I have 3 recs, but they're counselor/science/math teachers. I am on break right now, so there is not much that I can do about this. Am I screwed? Or will I be able to send in another teacher rec after January 1st? The rest of my application is complete; I had my interview last week, and the application is filled out. This is the only flaw of my application. In fact, I hadn't even plannned on applying to MIT until about 2 weeks ago when I was encouarged by friends and family.

It is okay if your teachers didn’t use MIT’s form. Hopefully, they addressed the points that MIT asks about in their letters, but even if they didn’t, it is okay.

You do need to have a recommendation from a humanities teacher. If I were you, I would send it in as soon as possible after break (and even perhaps try to contact the teacher who will write for you before break ends). I can’t guarantee that MIT will accept the late letter, but they tend to be sympathetic about late recommendation letter situations, and it’s certainly better than not sending a letter at all.
