I just found out that Stanford requires TWO recs from a Junior or Senior year teacher. They don't except recs for sophmore teachers? Somebody confirm this. If this is true, I'll have to find more teachers for my recs, AgH!

yeah, stanford likes to look at later grades. i don't think they even count freshman year. if i were you, i'd get two jun/sen recs and not risk anything. you could always send in a soph. one as a supplemental if that teacher knows you well.

i don't know why you are stressing, unless your school has some crazy guidelines, you have plenty of time to get a teacher's recommendation; most don't get asked until school starts...

I'm afraid that most of my teachers will be full by then

Right now I don't have any teachers from Junior year willing to write recs yet, and I don't want to ask Senior year teachers because they will most likely be full by then and they won't know my very well

Agh, now I have to find 2 more teachers to write my recs

Do they really require 2 recs from Juniors/Seniors or else the application won't be accepted?

How about if I have one from Junior year and another from sophmore year?

I'm having a hard time finding the right teachers. Please help.

"Do they really require 2 recs from Juniors/Seniors or else the application won't be accepted?"

The application will be accepted, but your chances of getting in will be diminished if you can't follow simple directions that are spelled out for you. If there is a teacher with whom you have a special bond, send his/her letter as supplemental rec (there is a form for that).

if you feel your senior teachers won't know you as well, go for two junior year teachers. send a supplement from a soph teacher that u are close to (as nngmm suggests)
