Teacher Recs

Rec letter has some typos here and there… and it is a bit short (3 paragraphs), but she is my AP Chemistry teacher, and I feel that she knows my performance the best of all my teachers (I’m close to her and I was an excellent student in her class).

Does this turn the adcoms off? Will this hurt my application?

Adcoms know that the teachers wrote the recs, not you, so typos will not reflect on you. Also, the length does not matter so much as the content. Personally, if I were an adcom, I would rather read a short rec that truly portrays the student and why they are a good student than a long and wordy rec that is generally vague.

@SJJunior It also lacks content. She kind of just lists the extracurriculars and my GPA… but those details are already provided in the commonapp. Should I trash this rec letter altogether, (as I have 2 others)? I’mafraid it might not be strong enough for Cornell. If you don’t mind, could I send the content of the letter to you via PM so you may judge for yourself?

If you want to I’m definitely willing to read it. However, you seem to really not like it, and you already have two others which meets the requirement. If you think it adds nothing and is poorly written, then you probably shouldn’t send it in as you don’t want the adcom to have to read an extra rec that is pointless.
