I'm a rising senior, and I'm thinking about asking one of my sophomore teachers for a college recommendation. I know that Yale recommends that I get my recs from junior/senior year teachers but none of my teachers I've had during junior year knows me very well, while I've had a great relationship with my sophomore year English teacher. Should I ask my sophomore English teacher for a recommendation?

I'd try make a good impression on a teacher senior year.

Go for the good sophomore one. I agree with AA, try and get to know a senior teacher well, however, I would definitely choose a teacher that knows me well and really likes me over one that better fits the criterion provided by Yale... it's just a guideline.

yeah go with the sophomore teacher. i think the fact that teacher knowing you better is much more important than teaching you directly in junior/sen. year.

unless, you are not that familiar with the teacher any more and think that he/she is not 'updated' with the latest happenings of your life...
