Teacher Recs

Hey everybody. I have a question about Teacher Recs.

I took AP Government last year and did extremely well in the class. I think my AP Gov teacher could write a killer rec for me. Do you think she'll remember me well enough from last year to write a rec letter for me?

(I am trying to get into an Ivy league school btw)

I also had an American Literature teacher last year who said I was one of the best students he has ever had in his AmLit classes. But the class was just a standard college prep class; not honors/AP. So would that rec not be a good one because it is not from a very hard class?

Finally, do you think I should have one rec from junior year and one from senior year?

it's best to have them from your junior year. It doesn't really matter what difficulty class or what class really (unless u hav an intented major that a class relates to) it really just matter HOW WELL THE TEACHER KNOWS YOU. the more personal it can be, the better.

^^ agreed. i think the ap gov teacher would remember you well enough, but the more personal the better for sure. i think i will have one written from a teacher, a coach, and then a family-friend with connections at the school if i can find one haha -- use this as an opportunity for the school to get to know you from an outside perspective
