I've looked at the website and can't find the forms for teacher recommendations.

also, i dont really know much about indiana university

can anyone tell me

the average sat/gpa of people who get in

does the university require counselor and teacher recs?

I found the pdf of the application. but do they require an essay? I can't seem to find the topic so..

Compared to other schools, IU has an easy application process. So easy that many think they are missing something when they apply.

Here is the link on how to apply:
[Apply Now: Future Freshmen: How to Apply: Office of Admissions: Indiana University Bloomington](http://admit.indiana.edu/apply/freshmen/apply.shtml)

No teacher recs or essays are requested or required. Students who think that their chances are slim submit an essay (topic of their choice). The counselor form is included in the link above.

I’m not sure what the average gpa/test scores are. Each year they keep getting higher though. I’m sure someone will come along with that info.

IU does not require teacher recommendations for admissions. You need to send hs transcript and a counselor’s form. The counselor’s form is here.
[Counselor Signature Form: Counselors: Office of Admissions: Indiana University Bloomington](http://www.indiana.edu/~iuadmit/counselors/form.shtml)

Make sure that your counselor reports only your weighted gpa (or highest) on the form.

Also, you should use the on-line application (and not the .pdf), as it will help you meet the November 1 deadline to be considered for automatic scholarships and other types of merit scholarships.
https://applyonline.indiana.edu/

A 3.8 or greater weighted gpa on a 4.0 scale and SAT greater than 1330 (cr+math) will get you $9,000 per year if you maintain a 3.0+ gpa at IU.
[Automatic Academic Scholarships: Office of Scholarships: Indiana University Bloomington](http://www.scholarships.indiana.edu/pages/automatic.php)

You can find admissions stats for Fall 2008 freshmen here

If you are a urm (or have one parent who is a urm), look into this program for excellent scholarships ($5,000-9,000 a year, depending on IU major and IU gpa)

Oops. cross-posted with Illinoismom.

thanks both of you!

My weighted gpa is 3.82 with a 1500 (crit + math) sat

would you say I have a fair chance ?

Yes, you’ll be accepted easily–and as noted by bthomp1, you qualify for an automatic scholarship of $9,000 per year (for four years) as long as you apply prior to November 1st.

P.S. Be sure that your weighted GPA and not your regular GPA is put on your transcript–because that is what determines your scholarship eligibility.
