Being a very large university, how is the student - teacher relationship; are you really just a number and a random face? Are the professors willing to help the students and are they easy accessible? I know individual attention is hard for the 100-200 level courses, but how about the upper level courses?

I'm just wondering since I'm thinking I need more individual attention.

I don’t know how it is for every department, but for me in mechanical engineering, I know several of my professors pretty well. The gen eds are huge and you are just a face in the crowd, but those classes are supposed to be huge and taught to the masses.

The thing is, it is what you make of it. If you want to stand out and get to know your professors, you can. If you want to just get lost in the crowd, you can do that too. You can also go somewhere in between. It is really up to you and how you go about your classes.
