This year I will be a high school junior. While signing up for classes last year, I had an open hour and was able to choose whichever class I wanted to take that hour. I originally signed up for AP Computer Science, but not enough kids signed up, so the class was canceled. I ended up being signed up as a teacher's aide for a spanish class, but I am still able to change it. Would college admissions frown upon being a teacher's aide rather than doing something more worthwhile(like taking German or another class)? I am especially looking at Caltech and MIT for college, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas. Thanks.

It would be more impressive for you to take another academic class instead of being a teacher’s go-fer.

I agree with Northstarmom, being a teacher’s aide isn’t that impressive. You’d definitely be better off signing up for another class.
