Teachers and AP Scores?

I plan to ask my Junior Year AP English teacher to write one of my recommendations for me. However, my score of 4 is comparatively different from all my other scores of 5. I do feel I progressed the most in English, but I'm wondering if teachers see the same grade report as I do (they see all the scores). It could influence her final judgement about me.

Any help would be great!

A four is a very good score on an AP test. Still, that is beside the point. Your teacher forms an opinion about you based on your performance in her class. I doubt your AP score will seriously affect that.

English teachers usually write the best because they are well, english teachers

Yeah, that's why I asked my English teacher for a rec.....:)

I'm pretty sure AP teachers get score reports.

But don't let that get you down. English teachers are fabulous. And it's always better to go with a teacher who saw you work your hardest for a B than to go with a teacher who doesn't know you and gave you an A.

I'm asking my US History teacher to write for me even though the US AP test and SAT II were my lowest of all. Don't fret it.

That's the most important thing - even if you didn't get a 5, your teacher will be able to talk about how you worked hard, were dedicated and challenged yourself - that's a thousand times better than a letter than only says "This student did well in my class. He showed up for class every day and got an A"

The teacher is going to write a recommendation on your abilities, dedication, so on, inside the class, not what you scored on the AP test. If you're really concerned, when you ask for the letter, mention how you feel you've improved.

thanks for all your suggestions - i've stopped worrying
