Teachers Proofing College Essays

<p>I'm going to be a graduating senior next year going through the application process for college. Many places I look recommend having former English teachers look at your essays before sending them to allow another critical eye to proofread and correct them. How many former English teachers should I ask to do this and should I approach it in a way similar to asking for a recommendation?</p>

<p>This is what you do. </p>

<p>Walk up to your english teacher while she is unoccupied and alone. After getting her attention, politely ask if she could edit the English paper you’ve worked the hardest on. Pretend as if this essay is for the college you are the most enthusiastic about. Lastly, thank her for her time. </p>

<p>Ask 2 teachers – 1 known for grammar, the other known for content.</p>
