I was advised to post here about this. My teacher told me that she submitted my letter, and that she addressed it as "to the dean of admission of Harvard college", and mentioned the name a couple more times throughout the letter.

We both had no idea that the same letter gets sent to all the schools, we thought she would have to select the letter for each college. Aaaand that page is not editable. What's there to be done now? I'm applying to 10 common app schools, and I doubt they'll like seeing another school's name...

I was thinking of making a new common app account, granted it will be incredibly annoying to fill out everything again, but it has to be done (unless there's something else that can be done)

I think you could probably just not select that recommendation for the other schools, and then have her send it in by mail. That way you can change the heading for the rest of them, and Harvard will feel special :)

I think it gets automatically selected… I had Harvard and Mount Holyoke started on, and it appeard to be ready to send with my application to both schools…

Hi Alisyn, Did the new account for common app worked for you?
My daughter’s teacher did the same thing and she is worried. I came across your post and that is giving a big sigh of relief. I am wondering if you went ahead and did with new common app account and if it is working for you. Thanks in advance!
